Higgins Lake, once designated as the sixth most beautiful lake in the world by National Geographic, is a water lovers paradise. Whether boating, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, camping or just sitting by the lake, Higgins Lake has something for everyone.
There are two State Parks on the shores of Higgins Lake:
• North Higgins Lake State Park located just off US 127 at 11747 North Higgins Lake Dr. Roscommon
• South Higgins Lake State Park located between US127 and I75 on Roscommon County Rd. 100

• Marl Lake South of the South State Park at 106 State Park Drive has three loop trails at 2, 3.5 or 5.5 miles
Lake Township has three township parks which have all recently been updated to include new playground equipment
• Park 27 at 10635 N. Harrison Rd. with Pickle Ball Courts and a Dog Park
• Sam-O-Set Park located on the shore of Higgins Lake
• Phoenix Park on the lake side of West Higgins Lake Dr.

Gerrish Township has three township parks they continue to update:
• Gerrish Township Community Park and Marina at 103 Mill Rd.
• Gerrish Township Park located at 103 Carlos Ave.
• Gerrish Township Municipal Park with Pickle Ball and Tennis courts at 2997 E. Higgins Lake Dr.
A fun family event presented by the Higgins Lake Roscommon Chamber each February during the 3-day President’s Day Weekend and the State of Michigan’s Free Winter Fishing Days. This event takes place at various places around the lake.
