Lost Twin Lakes Trail, Houghton Lake - (5K loop) an excellent wilderness experience. This trail features some elevation changes through beautiful primitive forest conditions.

Marl Lake(South Higgins Lake State Park) - offers the skier trails of 2, 3.5 and 5.5 miles. The terrain is fairly flat and goes around one end of Marl Lake with scenic views of the lake.

West Higgins Lake Cross-Country Ski Trail, Higgins Lake - offers a nice groomed track with all skill levels, featuring gently rolling hills and flat areas as well.

North Higgins Lake State Park - groomed trails range from 1.5 to 6.5 miles along rolling terrain through beautiful pine forests perfect for the experienced and novice skier.

Tisdale Triangle Pathway and the Mason Tract Pathway - located near Roscommon and offer a combined total of nearly 20 miles of pristine trails.

X Country Ski Headquarters- This charming Nordic Skiing / Snow shoeing center includes 18 Km of trails, has facilities for night skiing, a cozy lodge with food and hot beverages available. Cross-Country Ski Headquarters has snowmaking equipment and frequently groomed trails.
