Houghton Lake Public Library - Hosts children activities including story hours and a summer reading program, a large computer area for both adults and children, and outside activities that occur occasionally, contact the library for events.  Meeting rooms are available, as well as a book discussion group and a reading lounge area.  The loan of books and use of facilities are available to non-residents. Kirtland Community College Library - Containing an art gallery, this library offers college level material (papers, journals, reference books) with an interlibrary loan available; all open to the public.  Their summer hours are from 8am to 4:30pm and during the school year, they are open Monday thru Thursday 8am to 8pm and Friday 8 am to 4:30pm.  Located on the campus of Kirtland Community College, they can be reached at (989)275-5000 at extension 246.
