Burning Oak Country Club is located between Houghton and Higgins Lake just off Country Road 100 in Roscommon. Just minutes from your hotel room, this Par 72 golf course features unrestricted walking over its 6229 yard course. opened in 1962, Burning Oak Country Club offers golfers an opportunity to play amidst forested fairways in an enjoyable atmosphere. The course enjoys a 69.7 USGA and 117 slope rating. Golfers will enjoy a stop at the pro shop which also features a cocktail lounge with food available. Burning Oak Country Club also provides a driving range for golfers to tune up before heading to the first tee.

Named one of the Top 100 Golf Courses by Golf Digest, Forest Dunes Golf Club is an 18-hole champion track and part of a real estate development. The course was designed by British Open champion and architect Tom Weiskopf, and opened for play in 2002. The course design evokes the feel of Weiskopf's other courses, and contains a mix of styles, fromk traditional parkland to links style holes. There are many natural sand dunes and native grasses throughout, as well as toweing pines lining several fairways. The course was constructed over rolling terrain and the large greens are undulating and fast. Water comes into play on six holes and there is extensive bunkering throughout the course, adding to the challenge of Forest Dunes. The course plays from 5,097 to 7,104-yards and there are several tees, including a set for juniors, to accomodate all skill levels. The club includes a 15-acre practice facility, 2-acre putting course, and a "playoff" 19th hole - a117-yard, par 3 over water to a green guarded by a bunker in its center. A spectacular new clubhouse welcomes golfers to the course.

Located just one half mile from I-75 at Exit 251. This course has 18 holes at par 72 with 6362 yards. It is a great place to begin or end your Northern Michigan golf trip. The course features tree lined, gently rolling fairways, challenging greens, marshes, and water. All this adds up to a great course for golfers of all abilities. Built on 225 acres of scenic northern Michigan hardwoods, Fox Run offers tree-lined fairways, marsh holes, heather rough and udulating greens to test players of all abilities. A large club house includes a fully equipped pro shop, as well as a lounge and restaurant featuring cocktails, sandwiches, and a variety of other snacks and beverages. A grass tee driving range, practice bunkers, putting greens, and lessons with PGA golf professional Bob Koutnik are also available. |
