  • Lyman’s on the Lake-This marina offers a variety of baits, lures, underwater cameras, walleye & bluegill supplies, and line reels for customers. They sell a range of beer and discount cigarettes as well.  Located at 6560 W. Houghton Lake Dr. in Houghton Lake.  Contact them at (989)422-3231 for more information.

  • Edgewater Beach Marina - Pontoon, ski boats, fishing boats, Yamaha PWC rentals, and paddle boats.  They also have boat slip rentals and offer winter storage for boats and the use of their boat launch.  If, for whatever reason you should need service or parts for your boat, this business can perform them and meet your other boating needs.  They are located at 8320 W. Houghton Lake Dr.  (989) 422-4221, opened 7 am to 7 pm.

  • Houghton Lake Marina- They offer parts and service for all major models of boats, including Big Bore kits, and service for maximum and high performance work.  They rent pontoon and fishing boats as well.  Located at 13710 W. Shore Dr. in Houghton Lake. They can be reached at (989)422-7257.

  • L & G Boat - They offer boat rentals, pontoon boats and fishing boats with motors- 14 ft. Deep V. Located at Heights Marina, 900 Shoreline Dr., Houghton Lake (across from the Haunted Mansion on M-55).  Their number is (989)422-5712, open 7 days a week 7AM to 7 PM.

  • S. Higgins Lake St Park Store - they rent pontoons, paddleboats, water bicycles by the hour or the week. (989)821-5930.

  • Korbinski’s Marine - Located at 365 W. Houghton Lake Drive, Prudenville. They rent fishing boats, pontoons and jet skis (989)366-9500.

  • Numerous Resorts rent or provide boats for their guests.

 Lake Cruises

  • Cumberland Princess - Operates out of the Comfort Suites Waterfront Hotel.   2 ½ hr.  lunch and dinner cruises available.  Check for schedule of cruises with Comfort Suites (989)422-4000 Ext. 505.

Launch Sites on Houghton Lake

  1. Located behind the Rite Aid is a DNR boat launch. This can be used with a DNR Permit.
  2. Another DNR Boat Launch is located at Lantz Landing on Old 27 next to Comfort Suites.  This landing also requires a DNR Permit.
  3. At the Houghton Lake State Forest Campgrounds you will find a DNR landing that can be used with the purchase of an annual State Park sticker.
  4. Lapham’s Marina is a private launch site which can be used for a small fee.  Located off County Rd. 100 on Marina Dr. across from Roscommon County Airport (989)366-7763.
  5. Located at Whitney Court, there is a DNR launch site on County Rd. 100.  This can be used with a DNR Permit.
  6. Harvey Marina located at County Road 100 in Prudenville, has a private launch site that can be used when renting boats.  (989) 366-5537
  7. There is a site at the Sullivan Beach, located behind Bank One on Park St off M-55, in Prudenville. 

Launch Sites on Higgins Lake

  1. South Higgins Lake State Park; this DNR launch site is free with the purchase of a State Park sticker.  Only boats belonging to registered campers can be left overnight.
  2. Higgins Lake Boat Yard is at the end of Mill Road, off of West Higgins Lake Drive in Higgins Lake (989)821-6509.  
  3. On W. Higgins Lake (County Road 200) in Lyon Township is a public DNR boat launch which can be used with the purchase of a DNR Permit.
  4. North Higgins Lake State Park has a DNR launch site and can be used with the purchase of a State Park sticker.
  5. B & B Marina on Clare Street on the North Shore of Higgins is a launch site that is available to customers that rent boats from this business. 

Launch Site on Lake St. Helen

  1. A DNR launch site on Chippewa Trail Road is open to the public.  This can be used with a DNR Permit.

Launch Site on Marl Lake

  1. Located NE of Higgins Lake, across from S. Higgins Lake State Park.  Marl Lake is limited to non-powerboats.  Requires a State Park sticker.

Launch Site at Reedsburg Dam

  1. Located at the Reedsburg Dam State Forest Campground at the junction of M-55 & County Road 300 near Houghton Lake is run by the DNR.  Their phone number is (989)275-4622.  A State Park sticker is required.   Limited use of small power driven water crafts.
